Sophia Löffler was born in Potsdam in 1985. She took violin lessons for thirteen years and in 2007 began her studies at the Academy for Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig. From the season of 2009/10 she played at the Schauspielstudio of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, where she performed in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, directed by Simon Solberg. Furthermore, she played in Tilmann Köhler’s production of Horváth’s Italienische Nacht, which was awarded the Günther-Rühle-Preis for Best Acting at the Bensheimer “Young Actor’s Week” in 2010. Since the beginning of the season of 2011/12 she is a member of the drama company at Staatstheater Karlsruhe. In the season of 2013/14 she plays, among others, Luise in Schiller’s Kabale und Liebe, Prinzessin Natalie von Oranien in Prinz Friedrich von Homburg as well as Mila in Richtfest.
