Jan Andreesen was born in Wilhelmshaven in 1980. After finishing his civilian service at a school for children with disabilities and behavioral disorders he studied media sciences in Paderborn for two years. Here, we played Caligula in Albert Camus’ play and found his passion for theatre. During his acting studies at the Academy for Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig he played at Dresdner Staatsschauspiel , among others, in Mephisto and Der gute Mensch von Sezuan. After finishing his studies he was a part of the drama company at Theater Bielefeld. During the season of 2010/11 he was part of the drama company at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. Since the season of 2011/12 Jan Andreesen is a permanent member of the drama company at Staatstheater Karlsruhe where he has played in Philotas+, Alice and Verrücktes Blut and currently performs in, among others, Dantons Tod.
